Recipe: Nourishing Hot Cacao

Recipe: Nourishing Hot Cacao

During my pregnancy I became obsessed with hot chocolates! I think the sweetness helped to take the edge off my nausea in the first trimester, and after that it just turned into a daily ritual!

There's something about a homemade hot cacao that just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Knowing what ingredients are in it, and just the whole process of standing over the stove, heating the milk up, and pouring it into my cup is so damn satisfying!

This hot cacao uses beautiful ingredients that nourish your hormones and warm your insides.....it's like a warm & cosy hug!

Ingredients:

1 cup organic full cream milk/ or for dairy free option 1 cup of coconut milk

1 - 1.5 tbsp organic raw cacao powder or ceremonial grade cacao

1 tsp coconut oil

1 tsp maca powder

1/4 tsp medicinal mushrooms

1 tbsp Maia collagen powder

1 tsp sweetener of your choice ( coconut sugar, pure maple syrup, monkfruit, raw honey)

Method:

Add all ingredients into a saucepan and whisk together on low-medium heat.

Whisk occasionally to avoid ingredients sticking to the bottom

Ready to serve once all ingredients are combined/ dissolved and reached a thicker consistency.

If you want a seriously frothy hot chocolate, then pour your liquid into a blender at the end, and blend on high for about 20 seconds. You could also use an electric hand blender!

Pour into a mug and enjoy every sip! 🥰
