Recipe: Homemade Bone Broth

Recipe: Homemade Bone Broth

Bone broth is full of the key building blocks of fertility - Including good fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals which help to improve sperm quality, support a healthy menstrual cycle, build a healthy uterine lining and aid in proper implantation of the embryo.

Due to high glycine, collagen and gelatin content, bone broth can help to fight inflammation, stabilise blood sugar, detoxify the liver and heal the gut lining.

In our household, we make bone broth on a weekly basis - Here is the recipe!

Ingredients:

1.5kg of organic beef bones (marrow bones, knuckles, joints)

Knob of turmeric (or powder)

Knob of ginger (or powder)

Half bulb of garlic

2 celery stalks

2 carrots

1 bay leaf

2 tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar or fresh lemon juice

Good pinch of celtic sea salt

Pepper

Parsley

Method:

1. Place bones in slow cooker and cover to the top with filtered water

2. Add all of the remaining ingredients into the pot

3. Cover with a lid and slow cook on low for up to 20 hours.

4. Once cooked, remove bones from the pot

5. Strain broth into a pot so you're left with the beautiful golden liquid only

6. Allow the broth to set in the fridge until the fat has completely hardened at the top

7. Broth should be nice and gelatinous when set.

8. Scrape fat from the top and store in a jar in the fridge to use with your cooking.

9. Heat broth up on the stove and drink for a delicious beverage, or use throughout your cooking to add extra nutrients to your meals.

ENJOY.....
