Recipe: Chicken Liver Pate

A simple nutrient dense snack for pregnancy, packed with essential nutrients to nourish both you and your baby!

Ingredients:
  • 500g organic chicken livers
  • 2 tbsp ghee or butter
  • 1 cup bone broth
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • Good amount of salt & pepper

Method:
1. In a pan, fry the garlic in some ghee or butter.
2. Add the chicken livers and fry until each side is browned.
3. Add the ghee, paprika, thyme, parsley, coriander, bay leaves, salt & pepper and allow to cook for a few minutes.
4. Add the bone broth and allow to simmer until juices thicken.
5. Allow to cool slightly, then add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth. I like to add more ghee during this process (and broth if it needs).
6. Taste, and add extra salt if needed.
7. Enjoy with your morning eggs, carrot sticks, rice cakes or fresh sourdough and a drizzle of olive oil
